  • Description

Spending your potion reserve on a temporary weapon upgrade is the easiest way to turn an attendance reward into slower leveling. During MapleStory Classic World's Founder's First Step event, the useful question is not how much your inventory grows, but whether those resources keep your character training efficiently. Treat MS Classic World Mesos as your operating budget: equipment purchases should leave enough for the next sustained combat session.

Make Check-Ins Fit Your Training Schedule

Founder's First Step runs from October 6 through October 20, 2026. Characters at level 10 or above can accept its quest from the Maple Administrator. Attendance advances through completed check-ins rather than an uninterrupted calendar streak, so a missed session does not automatically erase earlier progress.

The limited window still matters. Before heading to a training map, inspect your attendance count and the requirements for your next reward. Make that check part of your login routine. Returning from a productive map solely because you forgot the event adds avoidable downtime without improving your character.

Separate Combat Supplies From Optional Extras

The first attendance package includes a 5,000 Leaf Points Exchange Coupon, Megaphones, Super Megaphones, Atmospheric Effect Boxes, and 30 Red Potions plus 30 Blue Potions. These are not interchangeable progression gains. Communication and visual items do not solve the same immediate problem as running short of recovery supplies during training.

For a developing character, assess those 60 potions against actual consumption. If a map requires frequent healing or repeated MP recovery, the package provides breathing room rather than a permanent solution. Compare the Leaf Points exchange options with your next objective before redeeming anything; the coupon's number alone does not establish its practical value.

    Judge Upgrades by Combat Breakpoints

Before level 30, an equipment purchase deserves scrutiny if another replacement is already approaching. Ask whether the upgrade changes a meaningful combat outcome: fewer attacks per target, fewer missed hits, or less healing between encounters. A higher displayed attack value is less compelling when enemies still require the same number of skill uses.

Use one familiar training area to compare your current setup with a proposed change. Track targets defeated, recovery items consumed, and time spent repositioning over equal-length sessions. A crowded map with impressive experience per target can perform poorly if travel and recovery interrupt every pull. Favor repeatable clears over theoretical returns.

Apply the same test to build decisions. An MP-intensive attack is not automatically the best farming choice if its extra damage leaves the kill count unchanged. Preserve enough mesos for routine recovery before committing to equipment, and avoid letting free event supplies conceal a training route you cannot sustain after those supplies run out.

    Prepare for Launch Without Overcommitting

Grand Launch is scheduled for October 21, 2026, with Founder's Access progress carrying forward. That makes class familiarity and sustainable equipment choices more useful than spending heavily just before the transition. Inspect reward descriptions for expiration conditions, and keep the attendance deadline separate from any Founder's Package claim deadline.

Before your final event sessions, collect eligible rewards, review remaining consumables, and identify the next equipment replacement you genuinely need. For tougher encounters, retain recovery supplies rather than exhausting your budget for a marginal damage increase. Treat any decision to buy GMSCW Mesos as separate from attendance planning; receiving an event coupon is not a reason to spend beyond your character's immediate requirements.
